This area aims to understand, develop, and optimize production processes.

The area covers all aspects of chemical and bioprocessing applications, including food and pharmaceutical processing as well as conversion and development of processes for novel, complex raw materials. The scientific foundation is physics and chemistry but also include biochemistry and microbiology for applications in bioprocessing and economics for production line and plant optimization.
